Espace Noir is a socioculturel centre with an anarchist stance/bias in the small town of St. Imier (Switzerland), in the franch part of the Canton of Bern. The cooperative is self-gouverned since 1986. Espace Noir (Black Space) has become an unavoidable place within the culturel and social live of the region. Active in social struggles, anti-militarism, feminism and sydicalism as well as in other movements, EN is an instrument to service persons and groupes that act for a transformation towards a society without domination.
Anarchists, locals, interns from social colleges, amateur and professionnel artists are active in the cooperative. This diversity is possible due to an open and pluralist approche of the colletive. The participation of the administration and animation is not exclusivly reserved for activists but open to everybody. The same applies for the clientele at the bar.
