The nine-story building originally belonged to Caixa Econômica Federal. The space, in 1997, was transformed into a cultural center. In 2004, the City Hall signed a Term of Assignment of Use with the Association of the Cultural Center Cia de Arte, which officially occupied the building. In 2022, it was included in the list of 92 properties owned by the municipality that can be sold, either by sale, exchange, assignment or partnership.
