It is our pleasure to invite you to share with us a delicious Nicaraguan meal and the rebellious music of singer-songwriter Jandir Rodríguez! We are organizing this night in celebration and commemoration of the April 2018 protests in Nicaragua, which were brutally repressed by state and paramilitary forces, taking the lives of 328 people and leaving many more injured and in prison. It also pushed more than 150.000 people into exile. For this reason, the night is organized by the Nicaraguan refugee community in the Netherlands, in collaboration with SOSNicaragua-Holanda and the Dutch Solidarity with Nicaragua. The dinner, starting at 18.00, is a “voku” – people’s kitchen – consisting of a series of typical Nicaraguan dishes like gallo pinto, tostones, adobo mushrooms and guiso (all vegetarian). There will also be tres leches and cajetas de coco for dessert. The proceeds of the benefit dinner will support the families of political prisoners in need. If you want to be sure of a plate, please sign up for dinner with an email to: sosnicaragua.holanda@gmail.com Following the dinner, at 20.00, Nicaraguan singer-songwriter Jandir Rodríguez, who is on tour to promote his second album “Volar”, will take the floor to sweep you away to warmer places  There will be plenty of time to socialize and maybe even dance a bit! You can also see caricatures by exiled cartoonist Pedro X. Molina and add to the collage of dedications to Nicaragua set up downstairs. We hope to see you all at Dokhuis on Saturday 16 April! Program: Doors open from 17.00 | Dinner from 18.00 | Concert & Music from 20.00 NOTE: park your bikes in the bike spots, and never in front of the neighboor’s buildings. Keep sidewalks free, keep quiet outside. Thank you!
