Built in the 1930s, the Embros building (declared a listed monument in 1989) served initially as the printing house of the newspaper of the same name and from 1988 to 2007 as the home of the "Morfes" Theatre Organisation and then of the "Embros" Theatre Company.

Abandoned and closed for almost five years, it was reactivated as an occupation in November 2011 on the initiative of the artists' group "Kini Mavili" and with the participation and support of the Residents' Movement of Psiri as well as other artists and people from the field of performing arts, music and visual arts.

After about a year of multifaceted artistic and social actions, and after two attempts by the police to seal and close the theatre, the responsibility for its operation and management was taken over by its weekly open assembly, in which all those who wish can freely participate.
