Exhibition: The work of Alarm Phone
10/01 17.00-22.00 | 11/01 11.00-22.00
The exhibition showcases material produced by Alarm Phone and gives insight about sea crossing and its dangers. We share glimpses from our CommemorActions in different cities where we mourn and remember the lost lives and where we demand justice for those who survived. We wish to give you a feeling of our work and how it accompanies us in our daily lives.
We invite you to use this space of remembrance and solidarity, to honor the fights and to amplify the voices that are being silenced. We invite you to think together on how we can go on beyond humanitarian work and white saviourism. We also invite you to share hope and resilience.
This is a space for you as much as it is for us. We dedicate this exhibition to all the activists within Alarm Phone and beyond, to activists imprisoned in Tunisia and elsewhere for their solidarity with migrants, to all those engaged for the freedom of movement, for social justice and for a free Palestine, Sudan, Congo…
La lutte continue!
We will open the exhibition on Friday, January 10, at 17:00 with a vernissage.
Filmscreening of ‚THIS JUNGO LIFE‘ (Arabic with EN/FR subtitles) with Q&A
10/01 19.00
THIS JUNGO LIFE’ shows the hidden lives of young migrants from Sudan and South Sudan, living and sleeping rough on the streets of Morocco: forced to flee violence and instability in Libya, and unable to return home due to ongoing war and conflict.
Produced in collaboration with the migrants themselves, and filmed entirely using mobile phones, this film offers unique and intimate access, providing a raw and unfiltered glimpse into the human spirit and innate drive for survival, as they fight for a better life for themselves and the families they left behind.
Followed by Q&A with the filmmakers David Fedele & Abubakr Ali and Rose from International Women* Space.
Collective conversation on resilient movements – how to continue the fight?
11/01 15.30 – 17.00
We want to take the time to exchange on our possibilities to build resilient movements and to continue the fight. This informal conversation will touch questions like, what are practices of resilience? How do we define solidarity? How can we support each other across the different struggles better? Your input is warmly welcome and we are happy for activists or activist groups to join.
To register, please send us an email to ap-berlin@posteo.de
Panel-Discussion on ‚What the SCANDALIZATION?!‘
11/01 18.00
Artists, activists, journalists, lawyers - we all use different forms of scandalization to denounce state violence: What do we have in common? What can we learn from each other? How do moments of scandalization work and why is it that ever so often no matter how big the bang, there are still no consequences?
We will speak about these questions with
- Hanaa Hakiki, ECCHR (European Center for constitutional and human rights)
- Phoebe Walton, Forensic Architecture
- Maurice Stierl, Alarm Phone
