Songs of Love and Liberation: Singing circle taster session

Short url:

https://squ.at/r/am3m

Join us Wed Oct 16th for a Singing Circle session led by @mpho_the_gvn We'll be running 3 taster sessions over the next 2 months as we work towards setting up a regular singing group at the Feminist Library in collaboration with Mpho. At each session we'll be exploring liberation songs from a wide range of global social movements, alongside music that celebrates love and joy.

Centring Black oral traditions, we will be using our voices and bodies to explore the power of collective vocal expression. Join us to explore how singing together continues to form an essential part of movements for collective resistance and liberation.

Who is it for?

All voices welcome! No prior knowledge is assumed and no experience is necessary. Don't worry, you will not be asked to sing on your own! We believe that singing should be for everyone so these sessions are accessible and mixed ability. All sessions are trans inclusive and open to all genders. Everyone is welcome!
