WE ARE HERE

… is one of the preeminent Black feminist magazines in our collection. You know where you don't find it? Wikipedia. We're hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to address this knowledge injustice and have agency over the people's encyclopaedia.
It's a great opportunity to learn more about this history, gain a new skill, and dive into the collection. We'll be building Wikipedia pages for periodicals or groups such as

- We Are Here
- Mukti
- The Black Lesbian and Gay Centre
- In Print

Come along to our TRAINING EVENING on October 2nd, 6pm - 9pm where we will have a WMUK accredited trainer. We'll show you the steps of editing and creating Wikipedia pages, and talk about why that's important. Snacks and drinks provided, we have a couple laptops to use but bring your own if you can.

Then, join us for the EDIT-A-THON the following Sunday, 12pm - 5pm. We'll have music, food, and comfortable chairs as we get down to business filling the blanks on Wikipedia. Our trainer will be present here as well to give anyone a refresher or fill you in if you missed the training evening.
