Dalston Solidarity Cafe - Join us on SATURDAY 13th of January between 2pm and 8pm at Halkevi Kurdish Community Centre (33 Dalston Lane, E8 3DF).

In solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for liberation and in particular with the prisoners’ struggle we have invited Captain Support and SOAS Detainee Support to conduct a training on visiting people in prisons as a form of border abolitionist resistance and solidarity with our comrades inside. The training will start at 5pm.

Both groups work with people detained for border crossings and we invite everyone coming along to the café to get involved and become visitors.

We will have an opportunity for letter-writing to prisoners throughout the café and people from both groups and Nejma Collective will be around to talk about prisoner solidarity and its wider interconnectedness to liberation and decolonisation.

This is an chance for people who are unable to attend the big Palestine march in London, or unable to attend all of it, to come along and learn meaningful skills and acts of solidarity with people facing border violence and the conditions that force people to seek asylum. We have also made the training later so people can come after the demo - look forward to seeing you there!

From 2pm onwards we’ll also have:
'Pay-what-you-can' food & drinks
Infoshop: zines, stickers & more
Free binders donated by Gender Swap (limited sizes available)
Free shop & clothes swap
Radical book swap & giveaway

The space is wheelchair accessible (through the Tyssen Street entrance)

***
We ask everyone attending to be respectful of others. We won’t tolerate racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic and any other discriminatory behaviour.

The cafe takes place every second Saturday of the month at Halkevi, the Kurdish community centre in Dalston (London), with open assemblies every Tuesdays before and after the event

The space is wheelchair accessible (through the Tyssen Street entrance).
