Dalston Solidarity Cafe - Resisting Raids

Short url:

Join us on Saturday 8th June, from 2 - 8pm at Halk Evi Kurdish Community Centre (📍 33 Dalston Lane, E8 3DF)

The government is currently forcing people seeking asylum onto the Bibby Stockholm prison ship. It is another escalation in their fascist border regime.

Many of us have been showing up at the reporting centres and hotels to resist - some vans and coaches have been blocked, many have not. What have we learnt, what has been useful, and what has failed? How can we show up better, stronger and more successfully? We wanted to use our space to reflect, critique, discuss and strengthen the most effective and militant ways we can resist together.

Please come! Our resistance is most powerful when it is collective, strategical and organised.

From 2pm onwards we’ll also have:
🥙☕️ ‘Pay as you feel’ hot food and drink
🇵🇸 Banner making for Palestine
🏴 Infoshop: zines, stickers and more (feel free to bring stuff for people to take!)
❤️‍🔥 Free binders donated by Gender Swap (limited sizes available)
👕 Free shop and clothes swap
📚 Radical bookswap and giveaway

🔥 Discussion starts at 4:30!

The space is wheelchair accessible (through Tyssen Street entrance)

We ask everyone attending to be respectful of others. We won’t tolerate any racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or any other discriminatory behaviour.
