Anneke Kampman (b.1986. Edinburgh, Scotland) is an artist working with text, music and moving image. Her works examine the manner in which the culture industry produces ‘personality’ for purposes of profit, addressing issues of standardisation, reproduction and artistic autonomy within the global circulation of popular music. The program consists of three video works by Kampman: an online archive of forty-three video clips organised around thirteen historical events; an essayistic exploration on the production and capitalisation of desire; and a pop-promo staging contradictions of commodification, respectively.
