Poison is one of the key films from the 90s. It is built up by three intermingling stories (Hero, Horror and Homo) and each is filmed in a different style. A television documentary about a suburban parricide, a black and white science-fiction where a scientist searches the elixir of human sexuality and a drama in colour about homosexuality in a prison. Poison is dreamy, queer, exuberant, rebellious, intelligent and very courageous. It is written and directed by Todd Haynes who later would gain fame with Safe and Velvet Goldmine.
