Sweltering neo-noir by Jean Becker with Isabelle Adjani in the lead as sultry femme fatale Elle. The story was written by cult author Sébastien Japrisot, who is better known for the book that lay the grounds for the whodunnit The Sleeping Car Murders (1965). Elle moves to a village in the French Alps to take revenge on the perpetrators of a terrible crime in her past. With the role Adjani won her second César award.
