Tonight we will watch How To Blow Up A Pipeline and discuss the questions that have been going around in the climate movement since the release of the book by Andreas Malm. While the world is burning and flooding, political leaders and company owners are continuing business as usual. Surprisingly, according to Malm, the climate movement has not yet resorted to violent acts of disruption, preferring peaceful protests instead. An example is the blockade of the highway ‘A12’, which has been going on for three weeks and has gathered a lot of support from mainstream audiences. Can the blockade and the support it has gathered put enough pressure on the people in power? Or do we need more radical action, and if yes, how?
