Getting Started with Workplace Organising

With rampant capitalist exploitation & profiteering fueling overlapping crises, now more than ever workers need to collectively organise to improve our lives today and to build confidence as a class for struggles tomorrow. SolFed's workplace training takes a direct action approach to organising rather than looking to use employment law to resolve workplace issues and is designed to give workers the tools and experience to organise in their workplaces, whether or not there's an existing union. This workshop will focus on workplace mapping: a process to understand the layout, social relations and work processes of your place of work; the first practical step in organising effectively. We'll also provide an overview of the whole training programme.

The workshop lasts an hour and a half and incorporates real life work situations to make it as realistic as possible. The principles taught in the workshop - and the programme - are based on successful workplace organising over the last decade and is constantly being adapted to incorporate the latest direct action experiences.
