Bude zajištěn překlad do češtiny.

[English version]

Our collective plans to celebrate our 6th anniversary on the last weekend in March. Next to a concert and party on Saturday we also prepared an international discussion panel for you.

Within the last years, we have been studying a map of Europe a lot. Probably you also have been doing so. The last decade was a lethal hit for the liberal idea of a united Europe. First the economical crisis hit, creating a deep division between states in the south of the European Union, like Greece, Spain and Italy. With great interest we have been following the steps the radical left in other countries took in order to intervene and to step up against the crisis regime. We participated in a few meetings, and we found things that we all have in common, things that we could learn from others, and also things that divide us. These divisions, from our perspective, are rooted in the different settings around us, the different political situations in which we are fighting basically the same things. Though also the situation in Greece and Germany isn’t comparable as in “very much alike”, the so-called migration crisis revealed another pattern in the last few months, a familiar pattern though. While most states of the former “West” accept refugees, and if it is only following the paradigm of economical profit, and societies are at least in part open to them, the former “East” meets another old “friend”: authoritarianism. The map of Europe, from this perspective, looks exactly as back in 1988.

But there is yet another map of Europe, that looks exactly that way. When we map the connections and cooperations of groups and alliances of the radical left, most of the routes also stop exactly there, were the Iron Curtain once divided the world in two. Though, due to the different perspectives the framework within we operate causes, there are many differences, we strongly believe that it is important for all of us to also find out which things we have in common, and how to connect struggles. One practical example is the fact, that Central Europe became the heartlands of Pegida and Co. But there’s of course more to it: for example, how to expand anticapitalist and anti-austerity struggles also to those countries, that are still depending very much on EU grants? Fighting from different positions doesn’t mean fighting different struggles.

To figure out, how to connect these different perspectives within the same struggles, to share experiences and compare analysis, to get to know each other a little and of course also to celebrate a bit, we invite you to join us for a weekend in Prague. Details on the program you find soon below.

Looking forward to see you and to rewrite the radical leftists’ map together in Prague.

The discussion will be held in English. There will be translation to Czech.
