Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair
3 Years Running - 2024 will mark the 3rd annual Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair, an event celebrating the life of Ewan and the radical past, present and future of the North-East.
On Saturday 1st June we will open the doors to another fine year of stalls, workshops and live events.
We will once again be hosted in the fabulous Star and Shadow Cinema in the east of the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The bookfair is ran by a group of volunteers using funding from donations and stalls. We tried to make this event as accessible as we can so anyone could enjoy. See the Visitor Info page for more information on access. Children & young people's activities will ran throughout the day.
If you have any questions or want to get involved drop us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Ewan Brown was a comrade and friend whose art, music and words inspired those in the north east and further afield and furthered the cause of a world worth striving for.
The event celebrated Ewan’s interests, as well as bringing together many groups from the region and the UK.
Where is it?
We will once again be located in the wonderful Star and Shadow Cinema in the east end of the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Star and Shadow Cinema are a volunteer run community project providing a space for Shieldfield and beyond. Anything from a community kitchen, radical library, meeting space and of course a working cinema space.
They don't just provide a great venue space but have all sorts of events on throughout the year, check them out here: https://starandshadow.org.uk/
We are delighted to so far announce some familiar and new faces for our 3rd instalment of the Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair in 2024. We will bring you groups from around the region and further afield to offer a unique selection of groups fighting for a wide array of causes.
As ever these are subject to change as the big day draws near and more will pop up closer to the time too.
