Book presentation: This System is Killing Us - Can Degrowth Struggle?
Short url:
Benefit for stop cop city + Atlanta Solidarity fund
In this session, Xander will give a presentation of approximately 30 minutes followed by a discussion.
The presentation will begin with an introduction to his new book, This System is Killing Us, where he discusses over six land conflicts over energy infrastructure and mining projects. While this book advocates degrowth, it is not without concern. Degrowth is a diverse amalgamation of people, where it sits between claims to producing technocratic academic works and policy proposals and others aspirating to become a movement. Following a brief review of the book, and discussing where degrowth implicity and explicitly emerges, the question will ask: Can degrowth Struggle? A tentative answer will be provided, but ultimately opened up for people to challenge and discuss.
