KOPRIVA is our dream community center! Autonomous, self-organized, horizontal, open to people of all abilities and all ages, KOPRIVA also houses the first feminist library in Sofia - collected and looked after by Bibliofem collective!
KOPRIVA provides the much needed space to nurture and grow community outside of the regular constraints of capitalism, a place that everyone could occupy without the need to spend money.
We put thought into creating a soft and warm environment that brings people together, builds solidarity and plants new seeds for change; where we can learn from each other and be free to create. We are particularly focused on transfeminism and ecology, which is why we chose the name KOPRIVA, which is the word for nettle in Bulgarian. Nettle is a plant that is as fierce and resilient as it is healing and nourishing.
