We decided to continue our reading group again after a wee summer break.

For next week's reading, we will read the first half of
"Beyond Survival: Strategies and Stories from the Transformative Justice Movement"

We believe in a healthy balance between theory & praxis and will try to read stuff that is of practical use to us and to the ways we organise.

The next reading focuses on transformative justice. It is easy to say we want to abolish the police & burn prisons.(and fuck yeah we do) But abolisionism is more than this, it is also includes finding ways and strategies to deal with harm done in our own communities without relying on the same logic of punishment & exclusion the prison and police system relies on.

This book deals with the messy reality of dealing with harm and transgressions made in our communities and will help us strategize how to deal with our shit when things go wrong.
