The African diaspora has been a world-wide transforming force since colonialism to nowadays. Segregation and systemic violence against Afro-communities have produced constant waves of resilience and liberation struggles. But also a continuous mix of traditions, sounds, and cultures today happening in a globalized landscape. Through the experimentation of formats, color, and black and white, non-linear narratives, music and sound landscapes, these films introduce us in an Afro-Caribbean journey.

FOUY ZÉTWAL  (Plowing the stars)
Wally Fall | 2020 | Guadeloupe | 14’

On her way to meet her dad, a woman reflects on her life. Along the way, the country looks empty to her, and, slowly, memories of past lives are coming back to her. Is it real? Or is it only a dream?

COCOTE
