Born in 1995 with the occupation of the old Paolini & Villani factory, the Centro Sociale Rivolta PVC (Post Vinyls Community) officially became the owner of the building in 1997 following a pact with the municipality of Venice. Rivolta is the first experience of a fight against urban decay and the abandonment of industrial zones in Porto Marghera made through the means of self-management and self-financing. The space now hosts cultural events, pubs, concerts, a social gym, an hostel with 24 beds and a photovoltaic system on the roof that produces 120 Kwh of energy.
The Rivolta has established itself over the years as a cultural reality and a meeting place at a regional level and is now an example of a space born from social antagonism and then transformed into an incubator for proposals and experiences.
