Cinema Colombiano: Selection of films made by filmmakers in Putumayo, Colombian Amazon
Short url:
Cinema Colombiano invites you this year to travel through tropical landscapes, páramos, rivers and roads. They will take you through Visiones de la Tierra to reflect on the changes the planet and the species living in here are going through. They will present films that investigate from Colombia the destruction of the planet, in connection with the historical over-exploitation of natural resources. You will see characters who wonder whether to live in the countryside or be carried away by the city. Others who, from the millenary indigenous wisdom, resist against the destruction of ecosystems.
After the films there will be music, with guest DJs. The Dooombiamberos playing tasty cumbias in Amsterdam, and DJ Edna Martinez delighting us in Rotterdam with a mix of champeta and other tropical rhythms.

"My brother was killed on 6 December by the Colombian army. I was told about it only three days later, when he was already buried. Since then, I have also lost my mother who has been silent since then. Overcome by the dismay that the state, which was supposed to protect us, was precisely the one that took her son away from her. Today I return to the place I love and hate, to make a journey from my heart to hers. To find and meet again my mother. To follow her footsteps, while she seems to be following my brother's since the last time he left the house alive."
