ParkNest is a self-organised community meeting place in Flevopark, Amsterdam-Oost. In October 2023, local residents occupied a building that had stood empty for many years. Together, we transformed the former pancake restaurant into an accessible space for the neighbourhood.

ParkNest is run by approximately thirty volunteers of different ages and backgrounds. We organise live music, shared meals, children’s activities, workshops, exhibitions and informal community gatherings. Everyone is welcome, regardless of income or background.

In the night of 20 to 21 August 2026, our building was completely destroyed by fire. ParkNest remains active. We are continuing our activities on the field next to the burned-down building while working together towards a temporary space and a new permanent home.
