Letošní DIY karneval zvedá jedno, zdálo by se, běžné až banální téma - ženská práva.

Proč běžné a banální? Řada lidí vám řekně, že doba boje za práva žen je úspěšně za námi, a že diskriminace a násilí páchané na ženách patří minulosti. Dost často zapomenou například na takový detaily, že Česko vede stále přední příčky v rozdílném odměňování žen a mužů za stejnou práci. Že většina řídících pozic je obsazena muži. A že a s různými druhy sexuálního obtěžování či násilí se za život setkala skoro každá žena.

Ačkoli freetekno komunita, ze které DIY karneval vzešel, bývá označována za žensky nejotevřenější ze současných subkultur, ruku na srdce, ani zde nejsou poměry ideální.

Právě z těchto důvodů chceme letošní akci věnovat ženám a jejich úsilí za férovej svět.

This year's DIY carnival emphasizes a topic which might seem common and trivial and that's Woman's rights.

Why common and trivial? Many people would say that the time of fighting for woman's rights is over and that the discrimination and violence committed on women belong to our history. 
Very often we forget about the fact that the Czech Republic is one of the leading countries where there are salary gaps between genders.
Furthermore, most of the top job positions are taken by men. 
Last but not least, almost every woman experienced some kind of sexual harassment or abuse during her life.

DIY Karnival carnival emerged from the freetekno community, which is considered by many to be one of the most open subcultures towards woman. 
Even in this community there's room for improvement, that is why this year we would like to dedicate this event to all the woman and their effort for a fair world. So come out to the streets with us! Women's rights are human rights!
