«At one time according to Sir George H. Darwin, the moon was very close to the Earth. Then the tides gradually pushed her far away: the tides that the Moon herself causes in the Earth’s waters, where the Earth slowly loses energy.»
For a short time, the Vondelbunker became a luminous cave, the new moon, the hollow of the wave, the silent room beneath the trams which kept on passing above our heads to remind us of the regularity of human tides.
The cave will open on Friday, January 31st 6 p.m.
Open on Saturday 4 – 9 p.m.
Performance schedule will be announced.

We are in the bridge, under the trams!

Welcome to the Vondelbunker!

The Vondelbunker is an autonomous cultural center run by volunteers who share the conviction that space is political. The bunker in its current form has been open since June 2011, hosting an unruly and dynamic cultural programme.
