Seed Sovereignty Documentary & Discussion
Short url:
With alarming corporate controls over our food systems and life threatening reductions in agrobiodiversity it is pertinent that we reconnect with seeds and strive for seed sovereignty.
ASEED warmly invites you to deepen your awareness on the state of the seeds that feed us today and the different of ways humans choose to relate and live with seeds.
We start by watching the first half of the multiple award winning documentary, Seed: The Untold Story. Then we enter into reflective and focused discussion on industrial agriculture, genetics and what inspiring alternatives exist to counter the privatisation of life and our ability to adapt to rapid climate change.
Enjoy a delicious meal provided by the lovely team at Taste Before You Waste (arrive before 7pm to guarantee food - pay by donation) then meet us downstairs for the screen. This event is part of the run up to the inspiring Reclaim the Seeds 2020 festival (https://www.reclaimtheseeds.nl/) taking place in Amsterdam March 21-22.
After New Year we plan to offer practical Seed Sovereignty workshops so we can become Seed Guardians. We can learn to select, save, and exchange seeds to be part of the movement for common/public control of seeds and our food security.
