The Blair Witch Project @ 19:45
Three film students (Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard, Michael C. Williams) travel to rural Maryland to investigate the local legend of the Blair Witch. They soon find themselves lost in the woods and stalked by a malevolent presence. Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez's phenomenal debut paved the way for the found footage horror genre. Shot for just $60K, and virally marketed as a true story, it became one of the most successful independent films of all time, launching a legion of imitators. But two decades later, The Blair Witch Project still stands ahead of the pack for its convincing performances, scary sound design, and haunting, expressionistic images. Watch the trailer.
Directed by Daniel Myrick & Eduardo Sánchez, 1999, USA, 81 minutes. In English.
