Still haunted by her husband's death, sleep-deprived Amelia (Essie Davis) struggles to raise six-year old Samuel (Noah Wiseman), who suffers from an overactive imagination. When an creepy storybook mysteriously appears in their home, it summons an evil force: the Babadook. Jennifer's Kent's superbly-crafted debut, combines supernatural shocks with psychological horror, in a potent examination of maternal angst.
