Lost in France

Short url:

Niall McCann | 2016 | Ireland/UK | 100'

„What happens when a bunch of young, broke and stupidly talented musicians from Glasgow travel to a small town in France to perform at a tiny music venue? And what happens when, eighteen years later, they do the exact same thing again? There will be happy songs for happy people, a long way from home – questions asked, answers sought, and plenty of reflection too.“ (Kino Otok)

In Glasgow in the mid-1990s, flourishing indie rock band The Delgados established cult record label Chemikal Underground, kicking off a renaissance of independent music in the city that would bring the likes of Mogwai, Arab Strap and Franz Ferdinand to the world. Lost in France features a stunning mix of live performances and reunites the label’s protagonists in an intimate exploration of friendship, memory and above all, of making music.

Director Niall McCann will be present for a Q&A on 28th of June!
