Gumi Sasak
Short url:
Gumi Sasak is our attempt at bringing squatting back to Delft! The neighbours are sympathetic to our cause because we all hate the same landlord.
We want to create a space where everyone can feel safe, regardless of their skin colour, sexual orientation, gender, class, or any other characteristic.
The vegan place is used as a community space, and for now, is mainly visited by people involved with climate and Palestine struggles in Delft, largely through the university. We use Gumi Sasak as a base for organising, having meetings, and as a place to host events. These events include weekly movie nights (Tuesdays), radical evening school sessions (Wednesdays), and community cooking (Sundays). There are also sleeping places available. If you want to join a session please email us at GumiSasak@disroot.org.
Gumi Sasak has been squatted since the end of September 2024. Gumi Sasak is not wheelchair accessible due to the front door and hallway being narrow. However, it is on the ground floor. The seating consists of an average height couch, leather chair and dining chairs. Seating can also be found lower to the floor and there's a possibility to lay down. There is also parking closeby. Accommodations can be made regarding sound, lighting and food intolerances/allergies. Assistents/interpreters are welcome. We try to be as inclusive as is possible so please let us know if we can do anything for you.
Malfermaj horoj:
We have irregular opening hours. To contact us, email gumisasak@disroot.org . Some weekdays, between 17:30 and 22:00. For now, we'll be hosting movie screenings, radical evening school sessions, and dinners.
