Community Circle: Distinguishing Opposing Ideas from Opposing People

Often, our groups and movements struggle with entrenched conflicts, power dynamics, and misdirected efforts, leading to a breakdown in enthusiasm and trust.

To achieve meaningful social impact and personal growth, we need to find ways to collaborate that align with our values and enhance both individual and collective agency.

This participatory workshop will explore such questions as:

- How can we foster more meaningful connections and understanding in discussions about critical global or personal issues, even when there is disagreement?

- How can we make our collaborative efforts truly expressive of our values?

- How can collaboration enhance our personal and collective agency?

Join us to explore these questions and more!

Think of it as an experiment in pop-up community, a lab to explore what it’s like to be you.

When we come together in a spirit of curiosity, presence and play, different possibilities emerge in the way we relate to others individually, and collectively.

Moving beyond automatic and social level 'acting', we’re able to meet each other from a place of 'living' that is much more connected, profound and inspired.

Through connection games, improvisation, movement and authentic relating, we'll get just a little bit closer to...your truth.

What participants have said:

“I’m normally quite shy when I meet new people, at parties and social events, but here I was able to drop in and open up really quickly” - Santo

“I think the world needs more spaces like this! I loved that I could just come here and be myself and express myself” – Emily

About the organiser:
Sasha is interested in the stories we tell and how they shape our lives. For over 12+ years, he’s explored intentional communities, somatics & group dynamics. Sasha facilitates groups through processes that enable connection to self, other and community. He’s interested in what wants to emerge when people come together, what conditions are needed for that emergence, and how we all play a part in allowing new stories to unfold.

This is for you if
- You're interested in getting below the surface level of 'normal' social interaction

What you'll walk away with
