Community Circle
Short url:
As activists our bodies, hearts and minds are on the line. And in the action and reaction of movement building it’s easy to armour up in response. When we’re doing movement work, we don’t always get the opportunity to process the human side; the emotional and physical toll.
Nieuwland’s Community Circle is an opportunity to do just that. It’s an invitation to come back to ground zero: your body and your body in relationship to other bodies. It’s a chance to take refuge. To breathe again. To soften. To feel.
Together, with a sense of curiosity, presence and play, we ask questions like:
What is made possible now that wasn't possible before?
How much of my 'authentic' self can I bring to the world?
Where does my story end and yours begin?
In this spirit, different possibilities emerge in the way we relate to others individually, and collectively.
It’s an experiment in pop-up community, a lab to explore what it’s like to be you.
Moving beyond automatic and social level 'acting', we’re able to meet each other from a place of 'living' that is much more connected, profound and inspired.
In each circle, we explore a new aspect of the pleasures and challenges of being a human being at this moment in history.
Through connection games, improvisation, movement and sharing, we'll get just a little bit closer to...your truth.

About the organiser:
Sasha is interested in the stories we tell and how they shape our lives. For over 12+ years, he’s explored intentional communities, somatics & group dynamics. Sasha facilitates groups through processes that enable connection to self, other and community. He’s interested in what wants to emerge when people come together, what conditions are needed for that emergence, and how we can all play a part in allowing new stories to unfold.
