A director with a very distinctive style, Jovan Jovanovic filmed in 1971 one of the key works in the history of contemporary Serbian film. Young and Healthy Like a Rose is a strong visionary achievement that still looks as topical today as it was back when it was banned by the government. It's a fast paced, punchy, push-back against the Tito era. It's sex, drugs and rock n' roll, all set in Communist Yugoslavia. has a wild free-wheeling punk rock vibe, way before punk even existed. This tale takes place in Belgrade, and follows a young delinquent who climbs to the top of the crime world. It is a story about cash and power and for many it predicted the country's fall of communism into free-market capitalism. As the main character says: "I am your future".
This is a real rebel film, branching out of the Yugoslavian Black Wave cinema of the 1960s. These movies were a slap in the face of all authority and government - but also against all conventional filmmaking. This one is rough and anarchistic, a wild journey that throws us into the Serbia of the 70s when there was a fiery rebellious spirit in the air. Because even though our main character is clearly a gangster after drugs and women, there is also something of a revolutionary in his spirit. Actor Dragan Nikolic dives into the role—and his presence enhanced the film's subversive power since he was a powerful sex symbol in Yugoslavia at the time. This film was immediately banned and never seen again until 2006.

This poignant Czechoslovakian short is about a naïve painter living in the countryside who makes incredible paintings of unrestricted imagination and spirit, who is visited by an insurance salesman. The end result is explosively wild and surreal.
