Exhibition on federal camps, the asylum machinery
On the first of March 2019, the tightening of asylum law takes effect throughout Switzerland, which forms the legal basis for the commissioning of federal camps. So far, the cantons have operated many smaller asylum camps, in their place the federal government will open about 18 large camps. Federal camps are places where migrated people are centrally managed, controlled and detained. The stronger centralization allows even greater surveillance and the threshold for conversion into completely closed camps is getting lower. This development can not only be observed in Switzerland but throughout Europe.
In order to follow the changes, to develop clear positions and to take action against them, the focus in the anarchist infothek Furia* in Bern in March and April 2019 is on the latest tightening of asylum law. However, as it is linked to various developments in the field of migration and beyond and cannot be regarded by itself, we will also address other issues.
The exhibition ausstellung.noblogs.org will be accessible during the opening times of the library (Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm) as well as before and after the events of the series on the asylum machinery.
Everybody who agrees with the principles of the anarchist infothek Furia is invited to join in the discussion and get involved.
All users of the anarchist infothek Furia are responsible for ensuring that the space is as free of discrimination and repression as possible.
The room is wheelchair accessible and non-smoking.
