After a short break, we’re back with a screening at the Vondelbunker, only this time it will be a digital screening instead of a 16 mm screening as our resident 16 mm film buff Mr. Psiego has had an unfortunate accident and is currently recovering at home. Instead of canceling the screenings for the time being we’ll keep up watching beautiful films and donations will go to the survival of the 16 mm cinema. For this screening we have the pleasure of once again hosting our favourite underground film connaisseur to our bunker for a digital screening of a cult horror classic!
“This is the original, cult version of the film which was later re-made as an awful movie with the same name with Nicolas Cage. The original version is a wonderful film, nearly perfect, in storyline, execution and acting. When it was first made it was dumped by its studio and almost totally forgotten about, but over the years it has developed a huge cult fan-base, and deservedly so. This ultimate cult classic has been chopped to bits by censors over the years. This will be a screening of the so-called ‘director’s cut’, which attempts to restore the film as close as possible to its original vision.”
This will be a stunning high-definition screening. It’s a free screening, but donations are very much welcome and they go to a very worthy cause! There will be theme-appropriate free snacks to enjoy during and after the film.
