Lopenstraat is an Istanbul based instrumental sex-tet that mainly combines the experimental, improvise, progressive and Anatolian rock elements on their music
Once they managed to get their studio and home improv sessions to resemble songs, they released their first single “Hike” in the summer of 2015. “Hike” was included as the final track of the compilation album “The New Generation Of Turkish Psychedelic Volume I” by Ironhand Records. After releasing their first EP “Şile” from Personal Space Records in October 2016, their live performances started to rely heavily on experimental elements, which prompted the release of their live-recorded second EP “Rönesans” in May 2017. Covering a spectrum between Anatolian psychedelia and free improvisation in their more recent live performances, Lopenstraat tries to blend elements of progressive, experimental and Anatolian rock genres into their musical output.
