La Ingobernable is a social centre of urban commons. It is a common good that is self-managed by the very people who use it and who work to bring it to life. It is a social space built among all and for all, a space free of sexist, racist, homophobic and transphobic attitudes. We are built from equality and solidarity. La Ingobernable is a feminist, environmentalist, mixed and solidarity project. Feminist, because we believe that this is the best value we have to transform society and make it more just, to put the sustainability of life at the center. Ecologist, because we oppose a capitalist mode of production that exploits and commodifies everything, making life impossible, leading us to a great crossroads. Mixed because we gather animals of all types to build together. Solidarity, because we make social justice and mutual support a central value.
From 6 May 2017 until its eviction on 13 November 2019, La Ingobernable occupied the building Paseo del Prado 30, Calle del Gobernador. On 4 March 2020, in this month of feminist revolt, organized rage, joy and struggle, the residents of Madrid made public the occupation of the building at calle Alberto Bosch 4, as a new common and open space in the heart of Madrid. For days we have been waiting to announce it to the city of Madrid: the Ingo has returned! On 24 April 2020, the government evicts the squat taking advantage of the state of emergency... We will return, sooner or later. We will return to recover and open up spaces for our neighbors, for social movements and for life. Our priority is to put life in the center and in this economic, social and health crisis we are going to need 10, 100, 1000 social centers.
