Collège sans frontières Maurice Scève
Short url:
The former college Maurice Scève ("squat Maurice Scève") was occupied at the end of September 2018 and evicted by a large police force on October 27, 2020.
At the call of several associations of solidarity with migrants and people in support of the organization of the "relief room", a rally was held with several hundred people in front of the Hôtel de Métropole, on September 17, 2018, during the first metropolitan council of return to school. This was an opportunity to remind David Kimelfeld, President of the Métropole, and the elected officials of his responsibilities. A dialogue took place with some of them.
Still seeing nothing concrete coming, the group of young migrants, solidarity people supported by the CUM (Coordination Urgence Migrants) and the "Ouvreurs de Squat" (Squatters) decided to occupy the premises, empty for 5 years, of the former Collège Maurice Scève (Lyon 4è) belonging to Lyon Métropole. Since the end of September 2018, more than 200 young migrants have found "a minimum" protection in this place.
