Reflectors III: Pride
Entrance & Bar from 18:00
Film from 19:00 with discussion afterwards
We as bike couriers ride bikes and love it. But have you ever thought that riding a bike is not only all fun and exercise, but also a lifestyle, community and even a political action?
3 evenings in September, come and see your love for bike riding reflected back at you in a full range of movies on cycling, bike couriers and solidarity between groups.
The third screening in Reflectors series is not obviously related with bikes or couriers. This time we will be watching the movie Pride (2014) by the director Matthew Warchus.
The movie itself is about U.K. gay activists that work to help miners during their strike of the National Union of Mine workers in the summer of 1984. It is based on a true story of solidarity between two groups of people that seem to have nothing in common to begin with. After the screening, we will discuss the importance of solidarity, coming together and unionizing as bike couriers.
Free entrance, free drinks and snacks!
September evenings might be cold, take something warm with you.
In case of the bad weather, the event might be delayed or canceled. Follow the event info here: www.Althangrund.jetzt
The event is funded through der Stadt Wien Kultur and VIDA.
