KURNIK! Feminist queer weekend
Short url:
We build the Kurnik as a temporary shelter for bodies that heteronormative/patriarchal/capitalist society makes invisible, pushes to the margins and marks as ugly, dysfunctional or abnormal.
Look forward to queer and feminist bands and performers, debates on ageing, ageism, modified, trans and intersex bodies.
Look forward to self-care, queer wellness, a safe environment, a dance party, speed dating and togetherness.
Kurnik is for everyone (says bell hooks).
Let's talk out the patriarchy!
Gossip against capitalism!
Stay queer, stay rebel!

Speeddating
Do you want to get to know someone who snores next to you in the attic? Do you want to know what kind of people pee behind your tent at night? Want to know who's hanging around? There's someone here for you and you can't think of the right question to ask? We'll do it for you. Nothing serious, no strings attached! ENJOY!
Our weapon is - and is not - solidarity
You know it: you come to a protest, a few people stand around nervously, others hang around with comrades, as if demos and protests are their daily bread. The parade moves, speeches pour in, and all that comes out of the crowd is: Solidarity is our weapon! Or: Your kids will be like us! How about inventing some new chants? The chanting workshop will be led by two feminists who enjoy talking, singing, shouting and scream.
Bodily autonomy of people with intersex variations
How do intersex people live in a Central European context compared to the West? What has changed in recent years? Is the authority of the medical community really as unshakable as it it seems? And what does it actually mean to live outside the physical-gender binary? You can find the answers to these and many other questions in a cozy setting while sharing a lived experience of one intersex person.
The body as object and subject - discussion
We can hurt the body, care for it, pierce it and tattoo it. At the same time, i tis us who experience all this. A discussion about body modifications and their cyberpunk forms, ritual of hanging on hooks, or the therapeutic potential of tattoos and piercings, with cyberpunk scholar, illustrator, tatto artist and writer Maria König Dudziaková.
Body. Body. Body.
Feminism is usually interpreted as a movement, which says: Enough of reason! Let the Other speak! Let the body speak! But: feminism today circulates through the media precisely as a chain of self-satisfied, diverse and boundary-transgressing bodies. The feminist lesson of today is: Any body is a good body. Is that a problem?
The theses of patriarchy are defied by feminist antitheses. The theses of feminism are opposed by queer antitheses. Yesterday's orthodoxy is today's enemy. Where is the body in all this?
Lecture by Ľubica Kobová.
Bodies, ropes, emotions(The basics of shibari and discovering the boundaries of intimacy)
To be confident in your body and around others, to safely set boundaries for intimate encounters of all kinds – all using shibari – the Japanese technique of rope bondage. The workshop will focus on two areas – discovering your own boundaries of intimacy, and the art of setting them correctly, as well as the basics of shibari and safety in tying (and other BDSM play).
Participants will learn to recognize their own feelings and boundaries through rope work and exercises, both on rope giver/rigger/top and rope receiver/bunny/bottom side. We will discover where our boundaries are, how to communicate them properly, and how to feel comfortable. This workshop is especially suitable for all shibari beginners or intermediate.
Suitable for couples and singles.
Capacity: max 20 people (10 couples)

Henhouse zine workshop
A diary of the event or a queer feminist manifesto? Let's record our experiences and thoughts from the weekend into a collective zine. Penthouse is dead, long live Henhouse! Let's make it as glossy and sexy as we want. Throughout the weekend, you can collect ideas for posts, and on Sunday, we'll put it all together.
If you want to create already during the event, you can use the free page in this program: for writing texts (how about a survey / interview / event report / pros and cons / your experiences...?), drawing illustrations or comics. Papers, writing and drawing materials will be available in the chillout room.
Led by Emca Revoluce and Rottweiler after plastic surgery (ex-Bloody Mary, Houpačka, Q-Kver zines)
Stand up for yourself: self-defence against aggressive and pig-like vermin
"Damn, I should have said something, I'll react faster next time..." "I told them to fuck off, I'm not going to get yelled at, but when they come at me I didn't know what to do..." Do you recognize yourself in this? Do you want to know how to handle uncomfortable, confrontational or threatening situations differently? Because each of us has weapons and power that we can use to defend ourselves. Let's rediscover them and stand up for ourselves.
Slick, aggressive, homo/bi/trans, pushy and disrespectful bullshit and behavior - no one is going to take that to us. Self-defense starts with clear communication and in some cases ends with fending off a physical attack. After this course, you will be able to do both. Just to be sure.

How capitalism burned women's rights away
The burning of witches is usually seen just as an barbaric practic practiced by not so wise religious fanatics. But on closer inspection, it shows that snatching women's power and social status away, in the form of taking away their right to practice prescientific medicine, do midwivery and share knowledge, had an important role in transforming a feudal society to a capitalist one, and that modern wicca can be a liberating anticapitalist praxis.
The talk is prepared by the queer anarchist collective DEKONSTRUKCE

Queer wellness
Come and relax in our wellness spa! You can sunbathe (or wrap yourself in a blanket in case of rain), splash in the pool, sip a long drink or tea of any conceivable temperature, let the scissors or a gentle massage run through your hair, relax all your cells through the touch of a tickler, melt into bliss. All bodies welcome and praised!
Monopoly of Wisdom – discussion of ageism
"You'll understand when you're older." "You can't discuss this with such dinosaurs." And you've probably experienced a lot of that kind of crap, no matter what your age. Prejudice and devaluation based on age is present in the feminist and queer community, too. This discussion wants to open the topic: how accepted do we feel at this or that age? Do we have any communication and cooperation between generations at all? Do we differ only in age or in other political experience? Are we able or willing to take in topics that are perhaps more burning for those younger / older than ourselves?

Feminist Support Group
The group will provide space for sharing how the system/patriarchy (regardless of gender) impacts our lives, what social situations it puts us in and how we recover or try to recover from these situations. It will be a space for sharing what it is like to openly claim feminism and what resources can be drawn from. We can share our thoughts and annoyances here and openly discuss them with like-minded people. All in a supportive and safe environment that we can create together. Within the group we will also explore a positive framework of emancipation and self-confidence, so that we don't just dwell on the negative emotions and upsets that can make our lives difficult.
The group will be led by Kristína and Radka - feminist supporters, social workers and future therapists of the Feminist Therapy concept.
Time duration: 1 hour and 40 minutes
Capacity: 10 persons (CZ)
Massages
Want to relax and unwind your post-party body? Get a good massage in the queer wellness zone. Our masseuse will massage your back, legs, arms or any other part of your body that needs it. You can also try a body to body massage, where the masseuse will massage your whole body. Recommended especially for highly haptic people.
All massages can also be enriched with aromatherapy elements. You will have a choice of many different essential oils, but feel free to bring your own.
Sexual timeliness (workshop)
Together we will create a space to map our sexualities in time. What have been the major milestones that have influenced our sexual experiences, preferences, experiences? In what ways have our
sexual development relates to our physicality? Who taught us what it is pleasure?

Radical love for the body - workshop
Most of us feel pressured by a society that is constantly pushing us forward in the pursuit of higher performance. A society that calls certain kinds of rest procrastination and sees the relaxation it allows us as a means of making our work performance more efficient. In such an environment, we are often completely disconnected from our bodies in order to cope with these demands.
Disconnection from the body becomes a coping strategy in different parts of our lives - not just work, it also affects our relationships, activism or leisure. In all of these areas, the social appeal of prioritizing reason, rational choice, over our feelings is encroaching. Spending time reading is thus seen by society as better spent than lounging on the sofa, attending a lecture is seen as better than a relaxing bath, etc. Many of us accept these social demands (unconsciously) and suffer remorse if we allow our bodies to simply shut down.
Let us dare to reject this attitude towards the body. Let us not think of the body as "it", that is, as something separate from us. We are the body. A body that does not exist separate from reason. We are a body that lives and that knows what its needs and desires are. We are a body whose mission is to be well, to fulfill its needs. We are a body that has infinite ways to experience pleasure and delight... through our skin, our organs, our senses...
Let's learn together how to love ourselves!!

How do LGBTI+ elders live? Do they even exist?
They are talked about as an invisible minority, yet they are among us and they are as numerous as the younger ones. They are invisible amongst their peers and they are also invisible within the LGBTI+ community. Sexuality and intimacy is the last thing we associate with older people, after all, an old person just wants to sit in the park and feed the pigeons.
The workshop will be led by Míša Jirsová from ŽIVOT 90.

Dance battle - If we can't dance it's not our revolution!
What's easier? A kilo of feathers or a dance challenge? Don't be scared, shaking a leg in the flock and everybody wins....already Emma Goldman knew....

Gig and parties
Tigrrez Punch (Germany)
Tigrrez Punch straddles the boundaries of trap, electro, punk and pop, bringing together beats with melody, subtlety with anger. They touch on queer feminist and mental health issues, and the lyrics are very personal. As they describe themself: they make music during the day, they smash patriarchy at night.
The Pau (Poland)
The Pau probably needs no introduction, with any luck you've already stumbled across them. A feminist punk band comprised of one person, an electric guitar (the rest of the band plays from a mobile phone) and a a good dose of energy, sass and pissed-offness. Don't miss this one!
Tradiční rodina (Czech Republic)
Tradiční rodina (Traditional Family) are not easy to describe: they call it punkover, whatever that meansTo get the idea of the music, imagine this: put an electric guitar, a cajon, a keyboard, samples and screamed feminist and radical queer lyrics, mash it together and you have a fresh and tangy smoothie like you've never had before. A new project on the scene!
FLIRT (DE)
If there’s one gig you should attend this year, it’s a show by German Dance Pop duo FLIRT. Picture this: Lady Gaga meets the Scissor Sisters at an opulent pool party and everybody's making out.
FLIRT – that's Baby Spice Vivi (she/her) and Sporty Spice Paul (he/him, she/her) – enchant you with a mix of dance beats and funky guitar licks, catchy singalongs and cheeky rap parts.
Their sound has been described as uniquely and excitingly delicious, fresh with a touch of 2000s nostalgia, “pop like nobody else is doing it right now.”
Have you ever dreamed of a place where expression means celebration? FLIRT invite you to their gorgeous paradise where it’s safe to be your true self - and always a sensible 25 degrees.
Following the release of their second Album Planet FLIRT in October 2022, FLIRT played their first headline tour through Germany and Switzerland where their shows have been complimented as being extremely memorable, absolutely sexy and definitely sweaty.
DJ Raving Zebra (Czech Republic)
Raving Zebra will take you to her musical world where she connects the sound of a typical London squat party and Berlin techno. She is known for her refined vinyl selection, dynamic presentation and elegant technique. She likes to combine older acid techno production with new hard techno styles. Her mixes are a guarantee of dance and she tells a strong story with the help of hard rhythmic elements, uncompromising bass lines and strong motives in a balanced final composition.
Tropical techno sound system
Amateur dance and dj's duo with an artistic slant on hate-art picks out the best and worst of what the '80s-to-the'10s dance music had to offer.
