Persons Unknown Festival
Short url:
Persons Unknown Festival is a three day event taking place in Manchester on the 10th-12th of May. The event itself will be facilitated by the Manchester Squat Scene and ran in partnership with grassroots activist organisations from across the country. The aim of the festival is to support and promote a diverse range of campaigns through workshops, art, and live music.
We are pleased to announce that on Friday daytime from 3pm onwards Greater Manchester Housing action (G.M.H.A), and Acorn Tenants Union will be holding two workshops as part of our DIY DAY!! This will be followed by film screenings and a music filled night with some alternative bands from across the county. "GMHA is an organisation working to join together different parts of Manchester's housing movement - from squatters to renters unions to researchers." Their workshop will be an introduction to the movement ecology, what they and others do, and how to get involved with social housing issues in Manchester.
It wouldn't be a Squat festival without Squatters, and we're pleased to announce that Advisory Service for Squatters shall be coming up north to run an info stall throughout the weekend! The Advisory Service For Squatters is an UNPAID collective of workers who have been running a daily advice service for squatters and homeless people since 1975. If you're interested in squatting make sure to have a good chat with them, the squat scene is always looking for new blood. https://www.squatter.org.uk/
