The Foodbank is a non-profit initiative aiming for more sustainability by turning food "waste" into a beautiful vegan feast.

The Foodbank (bank=Dutch for couch) is an initiative to bring vegetables and people together on a sofa of passionate inspiration, by cooking and eating a delicious meal together. We aim to turn waste into a beautiful vegan feast. Foodbank belongs to everyone, so as soon as you enter you are a volunteer.

In order to reduce food waste and spread awareness about the deliciousness of vegan food we upcycle orphaned vegetables and fruits into yummy dishes. Every Friday stands at the market donate their left over fruit and vegetable (that would otherwise have been thrown away) to us, and together with all of you we turn them into a tasty dinner.

The Foodbank is a volunteer run, non-profit initiative that relies on your participation, and contribution in time (for cooking as well as cleaning up, afterwards :)), laughter, and as we live in a capitalist world also donations.

We invite all those with a passion to cook or maybe just to eat, people who want to bring about social change and fight for a more sustainable world to the LBB. -> So everyone is invited!

Our usual weekly schedule is as follows (check events and posts for changes):
At 15h we leave the LBB to go to the Markt and pick up orphanaged fruit and vegetables.
At 16h its time to be creative and decide on the menu of the day
-> Cooking time!
At around 20h (depending on how much we help each other out) the first course of our beautiful, delicious, vegan three-course-menu will be served!
