Freedom Bookshop has signed up for the First Thursdays circuit in East London for venues (mainly art) to stay open late and provide free spaces for people to gather and socialise.

This first month is presented by some artistic members of the bookshop and the decentre social space upstairs.

Members of the Bookshop & Decentre present: Temporary Autonomous Alleyway Art* featuring live music, performance, autonomy and art - plus the bookshop will be open for all your anarcho-lit needs.

Featuring:

WONDRWOMN - The Girl Next Door, that raps. This North London artist specialises in crafting her own unique brand of ‘Grit Pop’, blending elements of Hip Hop, Psychedelic Soul and Funk. Her EP ‘The Girl Next Door, that raps.’ is available on Apple Music, iTunes, BandCamp. FB: Wondr Womn [www.facebook.com/wondrwomn]

ALICE KARVELI - an interdisciplinary mixed media artist whose work focuses on transformative performance, both live and on film, involving sculptural elements, hypnotic soundscapes, and a visceral kinaesthetic approach. "To drown/ To swim” is an inner dialogue between different aspects of Self, each in the process of emancipation from the clutches of their crutches.

MAD MAT VALENTINE - legendary street performer and urchin. No promotion necessary.

FREQ-SHOW - There are talented artists and then there is Freq-Show. So untalented and unsexy that it must all be an act. Kinky fire-based freak show, one not to be missed (as he'll probably fall on top of you)

Plus tunes from INSTAMASH and artwork from Vytautas Unsane.

*Not to be confused with Temporary Autonomous Art!
