FRUITVALE FILM SPACE
Aliveness and Solidarity through Film

F.F.S. is a monthly film screening in New Cross. The film is always free, is always followed by an informal discussion, and is always chosen with three goals in mind:

-to speak to the experiences of people on the receiving end of racialized, sexualized, economic or otherwise oppressive aggressions in their daily lives – especially police and state violence
-to serve as a tool for political and emotional growth for the person watching the film
-to bring people together in a space where we can reflect on what we’ve been watching and maybe also share our own feelings, responses, experiences and insight

F.F.S. is an informal film group, open to anyone. We believe that film is an excellent medium for getting people together to think, grow, communicate and generate ideas for action and change, both personal and political. We’re going through a time in society in which lots of people – especially younger people – are feeling isolated and vulnerable, and we want to offer a space for reflection, communication and solidarity – but also entertainment.

F.F.S. takes place at The Field in New Cross on the last Sunday of every month. You need to turn up on time at 3pm, when the screening begins.
