DSFL emergency finance meeting
We need your help! Our current financial forecasting suggests we’re going to approach a crunch point in November where we won’t have the money to pay our rent. We can change this, but only if we take action now.
2018 has in some respects been a quieter year at the space than we had hoped for. We’ve still had loads of brilliant events but bookings are down and this means we’re taking less on our bar, which accounts for around 85% of our income. We’ve also faced significant increases in business rates and other unavoidable costs that have made things more difficult.

We’ve been aware that we’ve been quieter for a while and have been trying to change that, with limited success – in part because alongside being quieter we’re also always in need of more volunteers.
This meeting is intended to come up with a plan (or several plans!) for how we can immediately bring in more money to avoid being unable to operate from mid-November onwards, and also to link up this immediate plan with a longer-term plan to stay financially sustainable so that we can keep the space open in the years to come.
The meeting is open to all. Bring your ideas and experiences.
