Need Abortion Ireland
Need Abortion Ireland runs a daily support textline, and provides information and care packages for people in Ireland accessing abortions. Abortion is illegal in Ireland North and South, and is punishable by a 14 year prison sentence. In early summer, there will be a referendum in the South on legislating for abortion up to 12 weeks. However even if this referendum passes, people will still need support accessing abortion while new medications are approved and regulated for by the Irish Health board. Recently the health minister has stated this could take 7 months! Funds are badly needed so Need Abortion Ireland can continue to support people who cannot travel to access abortion abroad throughout the referendum process. NAI stands in solidarity with people in the North of Ireland who are still denied access to abortions at home where the 1967 UK Abortion Act does not extend. https://needabortionireland.org/
