First Timers returns for another season of workshops and events where you can learn a new instrument and form your own band!
The first of many events taking place as part of FIRST TIMERS 2018 which is all about “getting new faces and voices in bands, and doing something about the lack of diversity in the make-up of the DIY music community” is JAM ON YOUR HANDS! A music jam session for beginners!
So come join us for an afternoon of trying out new instruments and pick one ready for your First Timers 2018 band!
Musicians of all instruments, styles and playing abilities (or none) are welcome, as well as spoken word and performance artists, to play with other musicians.
We’ll have a drum kit, guitars, bass guitar, vocal mics, percussion and a keyboard, but feel free to bring your own instruments as well! The more the merrier!
Guest facilitators on hand to help you with your instruments on the day will be members of Colour Me Wednesday and First Timers veterans Charmpit who will be playing a gig that evening from 8pm at DSFL, so stick around to see them live in action!
The Tipsy Black Sheep will be providing delicious, hot vegan food in the interval between Jam On Your Hands and the gig.
