GAF Film Night: 'Forget Shorter Showers' & 'Prelude to a Disaster'

How do we change the world? Do we need to change our consumption habits—eating less meat, using less plastic, composting? Can we save the planet if, on top of making better consumer choices, we also engage in civil disobedience?
At our next film night, we are showing two short films arguing that those approaches aren’t enough:

‘Forget Shorter Showers’ (11min, 2015) looks at the flaws of arguments that simple living can tackle environmental crises.
‘Prelude to a Disaster’ (37min, 2019, trailer) looks at climate change specifically and why direct action beyond civil disobedience might be necessary to struggle against its causes.

There’ll be time for discussion after the films.
Feel free to bring your own drinks.
Location: GRASS, 9 Eden Grove (The George Pub), N7 8EE next to Holloway tube station. Contact number 07938830066.
