Morsures: Antispeciesist Gathering
The Morsures gathering aims to create a space where antispeciesism can be discussed and reflected upon together. The gathering is organised by a group of people mainly based in French-speaking Switzerland, who share a desire to explore the subject in greater depth- especially in a Swiss context (as this is the context we know). Our aim, in organising this event, is to create a space where we can explore some of the issues relating to antispeciesism together with different people and, above all, different points of view.
We have no real interest in talking about veganism but would prefere to focus instead on the struggle against animal exploitation, which forms an integral part of an anarchist world view and of all the different fights against all forms of domination. We therefore aim to organise the Morsures gathering and all the workshops/discussions/film screenings…etc in an anti-authoritarian and horizontal way, in line with the dynamics we have within our own group. We are firmly opposed to all oppressions and systems of domination and as such, we aim to check our privileges, in general as well as during the gathering.
The event will be completely open priced and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Translations will be arranged in French, English, German and maybe Italian (we are looking for people able to translate into Italian, if you are interested or if you know people who might be interested, that would be great! Contact us!).
As for accommodation, we can accommodate a certain number of people, but probably not everyone, so if you need a place to sleep contact us and we’ll see if there are any places left for you to stay. If you live in Geneva and you would like to offer to host people, that would be supercool, please tell us! (Please also let us know if you would prefer a trans/women/NB/inter only space, whether you are asking for accommodation or offering it).
We look forward to meeting you on October the 4th, 5th and 6th in Geneva!
