Paper Lantern March, with new generation of Pirates!
Short url:
Location: City Hall Square (Spuiplein)
From saturday 28th til tuesday the 31st of March 2015 there will be four days of solidarity actions for De Vloek. During these four days of ‘Carnival of the Undercurrent’, De Vloek will take over the city with a Streetrave and a Critical Mass Bike Ride, among other fun things. We haven’t forgotten waterbased activities either, there will be enough room for that at #DeVloekDrijft.
From all corners of the Undercurrent in The Hague, many collectives and initiatives will organise themselves to say ‘no’ to the planned eviction of Freespace De Vloek. If you feel like participating in any way, be our guest! We call everyone to do something in The Hague (or outside of The Hague) that is a show of support for free spaces, autonomy without bosses and more non-profit meeting spaces for concerned an politically engaged people in The Hague and worldwide.
If you like dancing without hefty doorfees and bouncers, you should join in on the HBR/PDK soundsystem Streetrave! Build your own raft and sail on with #DeVloekDrijft! Grease your chains and race on with De Vloek Alleycat and the Critical Mass Bike Ride! Singalong to your favourit Piratesongs in Café De Vinger! Bring your kids to the ‘Next Generation (Lichting) of Activists’ paper lantern march!
Are you part of a collective? Organise collectively! Are you in a band? Write a song for De Vloek! You like baking pies? Pie your local project developper! Fancy painting? Paint your neighborhood cop! Squat the empties or set up camp in the mayors’ garden. Freeze the Icepalace (that’s the City Hall..)!
Anything goes. Be creative.
We will be here to support you with media teams who will document the things you do, tweet it, post it, etcetera! (And we have the judicial knowledge to help you out and support you if it seems that the cops and the mayor don’t like anti-authority celebrations:)
We ask you to start the Carnival!
